“Living Out the Mission of the Gospel” - PART 2
With Chris Synesael

Timeline: Fall 2021 to April 2022 -
Location: Wherever you jump online - Platform: ZOOM - Cost: $50

Pastors and Leaders,

One of the recurring questions I wrestled with in my 23 years in pastoral ministry was, “How can I graciously introduce people to Jesus and then best equip them to live a fulfilling life in Christ and a fruitful life for Christ?”  Informing that question was essentially another: “How do I become an effective disciple-maker, encouraging others to own and live the mission of Jesus Christ in obedience to the Great Commission?”
As followers of Christ, and as pastors and leaders specifically, we want to be obedient to the call of Christ upon our lives and the commission He has given in making disciples who make disciples who make disciples.  The challenge we continue to run into is, how do we most effectively go about doing this?
Or maybe you’re at a place where you’ve grown weary of the busyness of church work and you desire to give yourself to the work of the church (there’s a huge difference between the two!), and you long to become a fruitful disciple-maker of disciple-makers...you want to be part of a movement rooted in Christ that is transformational.
Well, we have some encouraging news for you.
We are excited to inform you that Theologue 2020-2021 will be taking place under the theme “Living Out the Mission of the Gospel” in hopes of equipping you as you grow in your journey as a disciple of Jesus who makes disciples of Jesus.
Instead of gathering at a retreat center, we will invite you to join us for “Theologue-Online” the first Thursday of every month starting September 3, 2020-April, 2021 for a monthly time of teaching with Chris Synesael (bio below), followed by a time of processing in cohort groups the third Thursday of every month.
We’re inviting you, and leaders from your church family, to participate with us as we together hear important information about imitating Jesus, the master disciple-maker, on our way to innovating in our respective contexts.  Join us as we get equipped, deepen our community with one another, and continue to build into the “move” of our movement!

Important Dates* and Times*: will be posted when available.

*All sessions, teaching and cohort groups, will take place at 10:00 a.m. MT (that’s 9:00 a.m. PT, 11:00 a.m. CT).

*Please book 1.5 hours for the teaching sessions (first Thursday) and 1 hour for the cohort groups (third Thursday).

Looking forward to having you join us!

Chris' Bio and Ministry
Chris Synesael

Chris founded West Village Church in 2011 with 20 people gathered in his living room where they asked the question: “What would it look like for a group of people to be radically changed by Jesus and then used by Jesus in the city of Victoria?”  West Village was born that day and  continues to exist to bring glory to God by transforming the Westshore of Victoria and the people in it by introducing them to Jesus.

Everything that West Village Church does is about introducing people to Jesus.  They believe that Jesus is not just a nice idea among the marketplace but that He was actually God incarnate and that He came to earth to rescue people and restore them to relationship with God.

The command for every church is to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-19), and the mission of West Village Church is to compel as many people as possible to become followers of Jesus. But knowing Jesus is not merely an evangelistic act, it is also an act of discipleship.  Not only do unbelievers need the Gospel, but so do believers.  Our hearts have a proclivity towards placing our hope in other things.  Knowing Jesus and believing the Gospel reminds believers that Jesus is to be central to all things.

Since its inception, West Village has been a living experiment to see if Jesus still does what He says He does. The church has grown and multiplied all across Victoria.  In 2017, this led to the launching of a second church gathering in Saanich under the leadership of Robin and Leanne Martens. And the desire of West Village Church is to continue to fill Victoria with Jesus’ people.
